MIA MOVER APM SYSTEM

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Project is a people mover system that connects the Miami International Airport (MIA) terminals to the Miami Inter-modal Center (MIC) station. In addition to the Guide way, the Project also includes a new station at MIA that connects to the existing terminal through the existing moving walkways. The MIA station is a two story elevated building: traffic at the street level, Maintenance facility at the 1st level and the Platform at the 2nd level. The overall covered area is approximately 36,000 SF and the scope includes all shell and finishes. The structure consists of deep foundation, concrete columns and slabs at 1st and 2nd levels and structural steel above the 2nd level to the roof. The 6,200 feet long elevated Guide way section between the MIA and MIC stations will carry two light rail tracks for the people mover system. It will be approximately 40 feet above grade and supported by concrete piers 120 ft. apart.
